Altimeter Terms of Service
Effective date: October 2, 2026
These terms are an agreement between Vx Digital, LLC (doing business as Altimeter), 1699 E Olive Ave, Gilbert, AZ 85234, United States ("Altimeter", "we", "us"), and the business that signs up for Altimeter ("you", "the merchant"). By installing the Altimeter Shopify app or using Altimeter, you agree to them on behalf of your business.
1. The service
Altimeter is a profit-analytics dashboard. It reads data from the tools you connect (Shopify, and optionally ShipHero, Klaviyo and Meta) and shows your sales, costs, margins, customers and marketing results in one place.
- Read-only. Altimeter only reads from your tools. It cannot create, change or delete anything in them: no orders, products, customers, ads or emails.
- Synced, not live. Data is copied on a schedule (roughly hourly for most sources). Figures can lag behind your tools, and the dashboard shows how old they are.
- Estimates. Some figures depend on your settings and on costs you supply (for example product costs and fees). Altimeter is a management tool, not accounting, tax or financial advice.
2. Beta
Altimeter is in beta.
- It is free during the beta. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before any charge starts, and charges will only start if you accept a paid plan. Paid plans will be billed through Shopify's app billing.
- Features may change, break or be removed.
- The service is provided "as is", without any uptime or support commitment.
- Please tell us about problems at media@vxdigital.co.
3. Your account
- You must be a business, and the person accepting these terms must be allowed to bind it.
- You decide who on your team has access, and with what role (owner, admin, viewer). You are responsible for what they do in Altimeter.
- Keep sign-in methods secure, and tell us straight away if you think someone has unauthorised access.
4. Your data
- You own your data. That includes everything Altimeter reads from your tools and everything you enter. We claim no ownership of it.
- You give us permission to process it only to provide Altimeter to you, keep it secure, and fix problems.
- We will not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with other merchants.
- Your customers' personal data (name and email) is handled under our Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms. You are the controller and we are your processor.
- You confirm that you are allowed to share this data with us, and that you have told your customers about it as the law requires (for example, in your store's privacy policy).
We may use aggregated, anonymous information about how the service is used (for example, how many syncs ran) to run and improve it. It will never identify you or your customers.
5. Connections and keys
- You connect your tools through their own sign-in (Shopify, Meta) or by giving us a read-only key (Klaviyo, ShipHero).
- We store keys encrypted and use them only to read your data.
- You can disconnect a tool at any time in Settings → Connections. To revoke access fully, also revoke the key in that tool.
6. Acceptable use
You will not:
- try to reach another merchant's data, or get around sign-in or roles;
- probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission (please report any vulnerability to media@vxdigital.co);
- overload the service, or scrape or copy it in bulk;
- resell or share access outside your business without our agreement;
- use Altimeter for anything unlawful, or to process data you have no right to process;
- reverse-engineer the service, except where the law allows it.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts the service or other merchants at risk. We will tell you why, unless the law or security prevents it.
7. Our intellectual property
We own Altimeter: its software, design and documentation. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your own business while your account is active. Feedback you give us may be used freely to improve the service.
8. Ending the service
- You can stop at any time by uninstalling the Altimeter app from Shopify or by emailing media@vxdigital.co.
- We can end the service for you with 30 days' notice, or immediately if you seriously breach these terms.
- What happens to your data:
- When you uninstall the Shopify app, Shopify sends us a deletion request 48 hours later. We delete your data within 48 hours of receiving it.
- If you cancel another way, we delete your data within 30 days.
- Deleted data leaves our backups automatically within a further 30 days.
- If you want a copy of your data before it is deleted, ask us before you cancel.
Details are in our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
Apart from what these terms say, the service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of figures. Business decisions you make using Altimeter are yours.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows:
- Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data.
- Each party's total liability under these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and (b) US$100.
- These limits do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, your obligation to pay fees, or anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change that affects you materially. If you keep using Altimeter after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using the service.
12. General
- Governing law: the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
- Disputes: the state and federal courts in Maricopa County, Arizona, which both parties accept as the place to bring any claim.
- These terms, the Data Processing Agreement and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement about Altimeter.
- If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- You may not transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them to a successor, including a future Altimeter company, with notice to you.
